#2getherwearebetter Bulletin Boards

When I started to think about what I wanted my bulletin boards to look like I knew I wanted to start with math and work my way around the room. The central theme to my classroom is all things chevron with a small mix of BoHo Birds. So when I went shopping at Lakeshore for some new things for my wall I knew exactly what to focus on and this is what I ended up with.

At the top are monthly cupcakes for birthdays. Once I get my class list I’ll write their name and day they were born on the cupcake. In the middle is the focus wall and I’ve already put up the first chapter we will be working on. If you like the focus wall cards you can find them here from Khrys Bosland.

And the bottom is the calendar, weather, and days of the week chart. The math wall is one of my favorites in the room.

In the back of my classroom is the Writing Wall for our center time. It was so much fun to put together because it is so colorful and I am addicted to Melonheadz.

In the middle are monthly cards that I got from Deedee Wills. I printed them on cardstock paper and laminated them for durability. I also bought the mini clothes pins from Michaels at 70% off and clipped them on the string, after the month is over I will hole punch the corner and put them on a ring and leave at the table for my students to look back on. You can get there here

The writing tools and Mr. and Mrs’ Fix posters I got from A Year of Many First. These will be helpful for my little’s to check over their writings and also give hints on details to add to their writing. You can get them here.

This is my reading focus wall and blooms HOT question wall. It is pretty bare right now because I am not sure what all I want to include. This is the wall that I have struggled with the most transitioning from Kindergarten to First Grade.

Since I am addicted to Melonheadz I took my favorite clip art for Science and Social Studies and blew them up for a little extra added touch.

This is my social studies and science wall. As well as where my clock will go. I bough the clock pencils from Lakeshore to go around the clock to tell every 5 minutes but over summer my clock got broken and I haven't been out to get a new one.

Science is pretty bare as well because we haven’t decided what we are teaching the first week on school yet.

I can’t wait to take you on a tour of my classroom next month.
